How will my child benefit from 1000 Books Before Kindergarten?

1000 Books Before Kindergarten is a nation-wide program designed to promote reading to newborns, infants, and toddlers, as well as encourage parents and children to bond through reading.

At Greenville Public Library, in addition to the literacy benefits, all children that read a minimum of 100 books get a free cloth tote bag with Willy the Bookworm on the front. Iron-on patches are awarded for each milestone reached. Upon completion, your child's photo will be added to our 1000 Books Wall of Fame

and they will receive a special 'I read 1000 books before Kindergarten' t-shirt!
