Greenville Public Library Announces
Search for New Library Director
GREENVILLE, OHIO – The Greenville Public Library Board of Trustees has announced the launch of a search for a new Library Director owing to the upcoming retirement of Susi Halley, who has served as the Library Director since 2017.

During her tenure, Halley has overseen the expansion of library programs, helped strengthen community partnerships, and led several successful fundraising initiatives that have enhanced the library’s resources and facilities.

“We are profoundly grateful for Susi’s steady leadership through some of the most challenging times in recent memory, including the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Lauren Mott, President of the Greenville Public Library Board of Trustees. “Her deep compassion for our staff and patrons ensured that the library continued to serve the community safely and effectively when people needed it most. Susi has preserved the legacy of the Greenville Public Library that began with Andrew Carnegie in 1901. The Board has bittersweet feelings about her retirement- but we are excited to take the library into its next generation.”

The Board of Trustees is now seeking an experienced and forward-thinking professional to serve as the next Library Director. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in library management, strategic planning, and community engagement, and will have the ability to serve as a visionary leader in helping the Board chart a course for the library’s future.

The new Director will be expected to guide the library through the next phase of growth and innovation- developing new programs, embracing emerging technologies, and implementing processes that enhance service delivery and strengthen community connections.

The position requires a collaborative leader with excellent communication and administrative skills, a strong understanding of public library operations, and a passion for public service.

The job posting, including detailed qualifications and application instructions, is now available on the library’s website at www.greenville-publiclibrary.org/work-for-gpl. Interested applicants are encouraged to review the posting and submit their application materials as directed.
